26th Montreal homicide: Man stabbed to death in Mile- End


After the overnight stabbing in Le Plateau-Mont-Royal, another man was stabbed to death in Mile-End, Friday morning. 

It was a 911 call that alerted the Montreal Police Service shortly after 5 a.m. to an armed attack near from rue Jeanne-Mance and avenue Van Horne.

Police located the victim, whose age remains unknown, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, making it the 26th homicide in occur on SPVM territory.

According to the investigation, it was an altercation that degenerated between the victim and her attacker, before the latter stabbed her at least once.< /p>

The suspect immediately fled on foot in one direction before the police arrived, said SPVM spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant.

The investigation was transferred to the major crimes section of the SPVM to try to determine the exact circumstances surrounding this armed attack which cost the life of a man.

The SPVM spokesperson specifies that a command post will be deployed on Friday morning, while investigators and technicians in identification are already hard at work.

As a reminder, a 23-year-old young man was stabbed shortly after midnight in Le Plateau-Mont-Royal, but he is out of danger.
