A campaign against the eroticization of the nursing profession

UPDATE DAY

As Halloween approaches, the Order of Nurses of Quebec (OIIQ) launches a campaign to encourage Quebecers to ditch sexy costumes and replace them with real nurse uniforms .

“The profession has evolved, but the stereotypes persist,” lamented Luc Mathieu, president of the OIIQ in a statement on Monday. He believes that the eroticization of the profession that manifests itself on Halloween is “socially and professionally unacceptable”.

“Nurses practice a scientific profession and their expertise must be better known and valued. It is time for perceptions to change.”

To do this, the OIIQ is launching an awareness campaign to encourage the population to think more critically about the way nurses are represented.< /p>

The video, which lasts about a minute, ends by recalling that “nurses take care of our world” and that we in turn must “[take care of] their image”.
