A seriously injured cyclist in Quebec: he was hit by a car in Sainte-Foy

A teenager riding an electric motor bicycle was violently hit by a motorist near Laurier Boulevard, Quebec.

The incident occurred at the start of afternoon, at the corner of avenue des Hôtels and chemin Saint-Louis, in Sainte-Foy.  

According to the Service de police de la Ville de Québec (SPVQ), ” this is a story of one person who cut another at the intersection”, although the exact circumstances are not yet known. 

The 16-year-old boy riding the bicycle was taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries. 

  We can't yet say that he is out of danger, says Sergeant Martin Beaulieu, of the SPVQ.

For his part, the motorist did not suffer injury, but she was taken back to the hospital for nervous shock.

Investigators from the local police force went to the scene to analyze the scene and establish the circumstances of the incident. However, there would be no criminal implications in this case.

The ramp from the Henri-IV highway to Avenue des Hôtels is currently closed to traffic to allow investigators to do their work.
