A driver hits a streetlight in Montreal


A 37-year-old motorist was injured after hitting a lamp post late Wednesday afternoon in the borough of LaSalle, Montreal. 

The collision occurred shortly before 5 p.m. on Airlie Street, near 80th Avenue, said spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), Caroline Chèvrefils.

The driver was traveling west to east on Airlie Street when he lost control of his vehicle for an unknown reason and ran into the lamppost. No other vehicle was involved.

Found conscious at the scene, the man who was alone in his car was transported to a hospital center for upper body injuries. We do not fear for his life.

Speed ​​could be involved in the accident, said the spokesperson.

The scene was protected to allow investigators of the collision section to determine the circumstances of the event. Witnesses were also interviewed.
