A pedestrian snapped up by his ex in Jonquière
|UPDATE DAY
A couple's argument escalated to the point where a person was allegedly hit by a vehicle, on the night of Saturday to Sunday, in Saguenay.
The police officers received a call at 3:30 a.m. for an individual on the ground at the corner of Frontenac and Roi-Georges streets, in the borough of Jonquière.
“The individual had obviously been hit by a motor vehicle. In fact, it was a couple's argument that spilled over into the street,” says police officer Marc Simard.
“During a separation, there is one of the individuals who left foot, the other got into his vehicle [and] deliberately ran into the victim,” he continues.
She was taken to Jonquière hospital to treat injuries “possibly minors”.
The suspect was arrested a few moments later. He was still in custody Sunday morning, awaiting his scheduled court appearance later in the day.
