Father Sebastian Picur is one of the more popular TikTokers that uses social media to answer questions and dispel doubts of the faithful. Recently, a clergyman spoke about whether divorcees could receive Holy Communion. What answer did he give?

Father Sebastian Picur answered a question from one of the TikTok users who wanted to know if divorce was an obstacle to accessing the Eucharist. The clergyman emphasized that if a divorced divorcee does not live in a non-sacramental relationship after divorce, he is not prevented from fully participating in the Eucharist.

In accordance with the applicable canon law, divorced persons who are divorced re entered into another non-sacramental union, they cannot receive Holy Communion. Even if a marriage is dissolved under Polish law, it does not have any consequences as regards the sacrament of marriage.
