The founder of the Quebec Institute of Artificial Intelligence Mila, Yoshua Bengio, is the third most influential scientist in the world in the past year, according to the ranking of Stanford University in California .

The Quebec scientific director was named the third most recognized researcher in the world, all fields combined. Only researchers Lin Zhong Wang and Georg Kresse beat him to this renowned list.

Yoshua Bengio is recognized as one of the world's leading experts in artificial intelligence. With numerous titles and distinctions over the years, the full professor at the University of Montreal ranks first as the most cited computer scientist in the world in 2022.

The Quebecer had notably distinguished himself in 2018 by winning the Nobel Prize in Computing, making him an internationally undisputed scientist as one of the leaders in artificial intelligence.

Stanford University unveiled its annual list of the world's most influential scientists on October 14. Research that was conducted by Professor Jonh P.A loannidis and a whole team.
