Elementary and secondary students will be able to take advantage of two additional free cultural outings each year under a united government, promises Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois.  

With the two existing ones, students would be entitled to a total of four paid outings each year.  

An envelope of $40 million per year will be reserved for this measure in order to democratize access to culture among young people. 

Out of approximately 1 million students, this represents an amount of $20 per additional outing.   

“Going to the theatre, discovering music, learning to paint or making movies, it's not a privilege, it's a factor of success and we are going to make it even more accessible from the start of the school career of our children,” said the solidarity leader during a press briefing on Tuesday in Rouyn-Noranda, Abitibi-Témiscamingue.  

The region has already established a cultural offer for young people in festivals or exhibition centers , according to outgoing MP and candidate for Rouyn-Noranda–Témiscamingue, Émilise Lessard-Therrien.
