Accident in Gaspésie: a man seriously injured after an exit from route


A 29-year-old motorist suffered serious injuries in a swerve that occurred in Carleton-sur-Mer, Gaspésie, Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred near Motel-Carleton-sur-Mer, on Route 132 – Boulevard Perron Est – around 2 p.m. 

When leaving the road, which did not involve than his van, the motorist rolled over several times. The vehicle was heavily damaged and the man had to be rushed to hospital.

“He suffers from serious injuries, but we do not fear for his life”, assures the spokesperson from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), Claude Doiron.

The provincial police force has opened an investigation to establish the causes and circumstances of the event. For now, it is believed that alcohol may have played a role in this case.
