Italian defender Domenico Criscito signed a contract valid until the end of the 2023 campaign with Toronto FC on Wednesday.
The 35-year-old veteran years will occupy a place of international player within the workforce. He has spent the last 15 seasons with Genoa C.F.C. and Club Zenit in Russia, scoring 50 goals in 498 games in all European competitions. In the most recent four years with Genoa, he has hit the target 20 times in 109 outings.
“Mimmo is a player who will add a valuable presence of experience to our club,” said the TFC President Bill Manning in a statement. He played a significant number of important games for his team and his country. He was the captain in Genoa and we are excited to have him join us.”
