Philadelphia Flyers forward Sean Couturier can still hope to play this season as his case is now being assessed on a weekly basis.
The organization concerned clarified on Wednesday that the player struggling with back pain will not undergo an operation. On Thursday, general manager Chuck Fletcher said Couturier wanted a second medical opinion on his condition, adding that he shouldn't be ruled out of the roster for 2022-23 out of hand.
< p>Sportsnet and a few other sources have previously reported that the skater has a good chance of missing the full regular schedule.
The veteran was limited to 29 games last season due to his problems and collected 17 points.
