US President Joe Biden is due to receive a new booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday, an opportunity for him to call on his compatriots to follow his example as winter approaches. 

The 79-year-old Democrat, who had COVID-19 three months ago, had already received a second booster dose in late March.

According to officials, Joe Biden will announce initiatives to push Americans to receive their booster dose before the holiday season, which is a time for travel and family reunions.

“Most Americans can, if they get this COVID-19 booster shot, enjoy life this fall and this winter with complete peace of mind, knowing that we are protected against this serious illness,” the White House said in a statement.

So far, only 20 mi Millions of Americans, including one in five seniors, have received it, according to the US executive.
