Blainville: three injured after police chase

Three people who were traveling in a stolen car were injured after a police chase occurred late afternoon in Blainville, in the Lower Laurentians. 

The accident occurred at the intersection of boulevard Industriel and rue Rolland-Brière.

According to initial information, the police were checking license plates when 'she noticed that a vehicle that was driving had been reported stolen in Montreal.

“When the driver saw that the policewoman was turning around, the vehicle fled,” said Constable Sarah Tousignant, spokesperson for the Blainville Police Department.

The fugitive who had not seen “the concrete block that separates the industrial district and the residential district” did not was able to avoid it and hit it head-on. Following the impact, the vehicle caught fire.

Four people were on board, according to the police.

One of them fled on foot before being finally located by the police a few minutes later.

The three other occupants, including a minor, had to be rushed to hospital.
