Boxing: a very big gala to come to Shawinigan

Arslanbek Makhmudov, Simon Kean, Steven Butler and Mary Spencer will headline an Eye of the Tiger Management gala presented in Shawinigan on December 16.

Thomas Chabot (7-0-0, 7 K.-O.), Leila Beaudoin (7-0-0, 1 K.-O.) and Alexandre Gaumont (4-0-0, 2 K. -O.) will also be there.

“Over the years, Shawinigan has really become a second home for Eye of the Tiger and an essential destination for Quebec boxing, said promoter Camille Estephan in a press release. We had some of the finest moments in our history there with memorable fights that raised passions.”

It's Makhmudov (15-0-0, 14 KOs) , holder of the WBC Silver, NABF and NABA heavyweight belts, who will provide the highlight of the show, he who needed a first career decision to defeat Carlos Takam (39-7-1, 28 K.O.), the 16 September at the Casino de Montréal.

Used to be the star of the cards in Mauricie, Simon Kean (21-1-0, 20 K.-O.) will have to settle for the semi-final this time a few kilometers from Trois-Rivières, his hometown. He is certainly eager to get back in the ring, since his last fight ended before he even started, when Newfel Ouatah (18-4-0, 10 KOs) took his knee on September 9 at the Casino.

No opponents are known at this time.
