The Capitals of Quebec have never been swept away this season and they intended to continue this streak. They easily beat the Sussex County Miners 6-1 on Thursday at Skylands Stadium.

After losing in two hotly contested duels on Tuesday and Wednesday, Patrick's men Scalabrini made sure to build enough cushion in Game 3 of this series.

The Caps opened the scoring in the fifth inning thanks to a defensive error from the Miners. T.J. White then allowed Marc-Antoine Lebreux to score with a hit off Vin Mazzaro (3-3), before Kyle Crawl followed suit with a productive single.

Former Mazzaro of the Major Leagues, suffered the loss after allowing seven hits and three runs – including one earned – in five innings of work.

It was however his colleague Ronnie Voacolo who allowed the other three runs visitors. Jefrrey Parra first sent his offering into the stands in the seventh. An inning later, Garrett Takamatsu hit a single that sent David Glaude and Lebreux home.

Jawuan Harris was the instigator of the Miners' only moment of celebration, in the sixth sleeve. His solo home run was the only blemish on Miguel Cienfuegos' record (5-1) during the game.

The Capitals ace allowed just five hits and one earned run in six innings and passed seven batters in the mitt.

The Old Capital team will begin the battle of La Belle Province against the Aigles de Trois-Rivières on Friday at Stade Canac.
