100 years of the Faculty of Music
The 2022-2023 academic year marks the 100th anniversary of the Faculty of Music at Université Laval. For the occasion, the Faculty is organizing a series of events, including the launch of the festivities on June 10 at the Palais Montcalm until the closing event, the 100th Congress, organized by the Faculty of Music, May 16 to 21, 2023, at Laval University, under the theme “Dialogues”. Throughout the year, workshops, concerts, masterclasses, conferences, summer academy and other events will commemorate the ten decades of the Faculty. Founded in 1922, the École de musique de l'Université Laval is the first French-speaking institution in Quebec to offer programs in the musical field. The Faculty of Music at Laval University is one of the first in Canada to offer a complete program of theoretical and instrumental training leading to a bachelor's degree. More than 3,000 students have been trained there to date.
