Taipei on Saturday called on Beijing to shed its “old mentality” after the Chinese Communist Party's decision to include rejection of Taiwanese independence in its charter.
“We call on the new leadership of the Chinese communist government to abandon its old mentality of invasion and confrontation and resolve disputes through peaceful, fair and realistic means,” a statement said. Taiwan Mainland Affairs Council, the body that sets the Taiwanese government's policy towards Beijing.
