Class action authorized against Croisières AML

BETTING À DAY

A class action against Croisières AML, for hidden fees on the purchase of tickets, has been authorized by the Superior Court of Quebec.

C' is the law firm Lambert Avocats which filed this request for class action on November 29.

The plaintiff, Olivier Phanor, criticizes Croisières AML for having added mandatory additional fees to the purchase of tickets for a cruise or excursion.

“The next step will be to publish notices in order to find as many potential members as possible. Over three years, these are estimated in the hundreds of thousands, considering that the defendant claimed to welcome approximately 600,000 people per year on its fleets,” the law firm told QMI Agency by email.

The class action targets “all consumers who, since June 12, 2018, have paid a price higher than that advertised for a cruise offered by the defendants”.

All those concerned could thus obtain reimbursement and punitive damages in the event of a victory for the plaintiff.
