The film “Confession”, by Luc Picard, has been out for less than a month, but it is already among the most profitable of the year, according to its distributor.
Les Films Opale announced on Tuesday that the Quebec film had accumulated $1,003,220 in revenue since its theatrical release on July 20, making it the first Quebec film to cross the million mark, since “Le Guide to the Perfect Family” by Ricardo Trogi, out summer 2021.
Starring Luc Picard, David La Haye, Sandrine Bisson, Éveline Gélinas, Dany Boudreault, Emmanuel Charest and Jean-François Boudreau , the film tells the true story of the hitman Gérard Gallant, one of the most prolific that Quebec has known.
Earlier last month, Les Films Opale announced that the feature film got the best start for Quebec films this year with receipts of more than $322,000 after only 5 days in theaters.
