Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson will miss Sunday's next game against the New York Jets to recover from a number of lingering injuries. 

< p>According to ESPN's report on Saturday, head coach Nathaniel Hackett will send Canadian-American center Brett Rypien into the fray. This will be the 26-year-old's second NFL career start.

Wilson suffered a groin injury during Monday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Broncos' trusted man (2-4) had just 15 of 28 pass attempts for 188 yards and a touchdown.

A model of consistency since the start of his career, the he former Seattle Seahawks quarterback has missed just two games since 2012, each time last year. In six games in 2022, he has rushed for 1,442 yards, five snaps for majors and three interceptions.
