Elections: polling stations from September 23 on campuses

Éelections: polling stations from September 23 on campuses

Polling stations will be set up as of September 23 on more than 170 campuses of CEGEPs, universities and vocational training centers to allow students to vote if they are far from their riding.

These polling places will be open on September 23, 27 and 28 between 9:30 a.m. and 8 p.m., as well as on September 29 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., indicated Elections Quebec.

For the first time, institutional staff will also be able to vote on campus, an accommodation previously only available to students.

Voting at Institutions had been put in place to prevent students from having to travel to their riding to exercise their right.

According to Élections Québec, nearly 80% of the votes cast on campus were counted in a constituency other than the campus constituency in the 2014 and 2018 elections.
