Bill Morneau, Canada's former Minister of Finance, will join CIBC's Board of Directors beginning Novemberst.< /strong>
“Bill Morneau is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in government, public policy and business, as well as strong international expertise,” said Kate Stevenson, President of the Board of Directors of CIBC, in a press release on Tuesday.
Recall that Mr. Morneau was Minister of Finance of Canada and Member of Parliament from 2015 to 2020. He also participated in major socio-economic forums international organizations, including those of the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the OECD. From 1990 to 2015, he led Morneau Shepell, a provider of human resources and pension services in Canada.
“His strategic vision and the extent of his leadership in the public sectors and private will benefit our Board of Directors as we oversee the execution of CIBC's customer-focused and purpose-driven growth strategy,” added Ms. Stevenson.
