A woman died on Sunday after being hit by a taxi in the Ville-Marie borough.
According to information from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), the accident allegedly occurred around 1:30 a.m. when the victim, aged 56, was trying to cross Saint-Hubert Street on foot between Ontario Street and Maisonneuve Boulevard.
The woman was transported to a hospital, where her condition was critical, said the SPVM, before confirming his death in the morning. As for the driver, he was not injured.
Investigators spent more than four hours at the scene to determine the cause and circumstances of the accident. “For the moment, all the hypotheses are on the table,” said SPVM spokesperson Gabriella Youakim.
