Boxer Jean Pascal would re-enter the ring in Montreal in 2023 for a duel against the German Michael Eifert.
This is what the specialized website BoxingScene, Monday.
The Pascal clan and that of his possible 24-year-old rival would have agreed on the terms of a fight that would allow the Quebecer to fight in front of his family for the first time since July 2018. It would also be the first time that Eifert (11-1-0, 4 KOs) has put on the gloves outside of Europe.
At the end of September, the International Boxing Federation (IBF) had asked the two boxers to start talks for a possible elimination fight at heavyweight.
Pascal (36-6-1 , 20 K.-O.) has won his last three fights, including on May 20 against the Chinese Fanlong Meng. The 39-year-old Laval resident was world champion from 2009 to 2011. During this period of his long career, he held the World Boxing Council (WBC) light heavyweight title.
