Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Matt Murray was injured during Saturday morning practice, so his name has been placed on the injured reserve.  ;
The veteran goaltender, who lost his first game in the blue uniform during a visit to the Bell Center to face the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday, is expected to miss about four weeks of activity due to a an adductor muscle injury.
To replace him, the Leafs recalled Erik Källgren from the Marlies. The 26-year-old Swede played 14 games with the Leafs in 2021-22, posting an 8-4-1 record, 3.31 goals-against average and .888 save percentage. He had to leave his only game with the Marlies this season after 28 minutes, also injured.
The Leafs are scheduled to face the Ottawa Senators at Scotiabank Arena on Saturday night. Murray was to start the game, but it will ultimately be Ilya Samsonov who will be in front of the Toronto cage.
