MLS: LAFC knocks out Galaxy in a bang


MLS' biggest rivalry 'El Trafico' lived up to expectations. 

LAFC advanced to the Association Finals of the West with a dramatic 3-2 win over the Galaxy on Thursday night in Los Angeles. 

When overtime was thought to be necessary, Cristian Arango ruled debate in the third minute (out of six) of stoppage time in the second half. That's called a bang! 

At the 85th minute, Dejan Joveljic had given hope to the Galaxy by creating the equality 2-2. Arango then turned it off, however.

After 45 minutes of play, it was tied 1-1. Dénis Bouanga opened the scoring for LAFC in the 23rd. The Galaxy replied before the whistle thanks to a goal from Samuel Grandsir in the 44th minute.

Bouanga did it again in the second half (in the 80th minute) to restore the lead to LAFC. 

For a place in the grand final, LAFC will face the winner of the match between Austin FC and FC Dallas, scheduled for Sunday evening. 

Remember that LAFC finished the season in first place of the overall MLS standings. His neighbor finished fourth in the West.

The Union logically in the final

Earlier in the evening, the Philadelphia Union logically advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals with a 1-0 win over FC Cincinnati. 

He will face the winner of the scheduled game in the final Sunday afternoon between CF Montreal and New York City FC.
