Montréal: 38-year-old man shot in Ville-Marie park

A 38-year-old man was shot and wounded overnight Monday through Tuesday in downtown Montreal.

Police officers from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) were alerted around midnight to gunshots heard in Émilie-Gamelin Park, in the Ville sector. -Marie.

The victim, hit in the upper body by projectiles from a firearm, was located by the police and transported to a hospital center where she is in critical condition.

Witnesses told the police that they had seen at least one suspect fire in the direction of the victim before fleeing, indicated Gabrielle Youakim, spokesperson for the SPVM.

No suspect has been arrested for the time being, according to the police, who say the scene has been protected by a security perimeter pending the arrival of investigators on the scene.
