Montréal: A pedestrian hit by a car


A pedestrian was hit by a car at the corner of Papineau and Beaubien streets, in the borough of Rosemont-La-Petite-Patrie, on Sunday morning. 

< p>The victim, a man in his 60s, was taken unconscious to a hospital and remains in critical condition, according to police spokesman Jean-Pierre Brabant.
The driver, also in his 60s, was not injured and will be heard by the police.

The collision occurred around 3:55 a.m. on rue Papineau when the pedestrian was crossing the road, near rue Beaubien. The car was heading south, according to witnesses.
The road is closed and a perimeter has been erected on Papineau Street between Bellechasse Street and Beaubien Street.

An investigator collision will go to the scene to determine the circumstances of the accident.
