Montreal: Suspect of stabbing arrested

UPGRADE DAY

A man suspected of stabbing another man earlier this month was arrested and appeared in the Montreal courthouse Thursday on charges of attempted murder and criminal harassment. 

Donaldtelo Vilme, 20, is suspected of having stabbed a man in his twenties on October 6, near the intersection of rue Beaudry and rue Sainte-Catherine Est, in the borough of Ville-Marie.

The arrest was made by investigators from the Southern Criminal Investigation Section with the prior collaboration of the Forensic Identification Section and the canine squad.

The October 6, 2022, around 7 p.m., a 24-year-old man was stopped by three individuals while he was walking with a friend, and was stabbed in the abdomen. 

The victim was transported to hospital and survived her injuries.

Two other people, a man and a woman, were with Donaldtelo Vilme at the time of the incident .
