More rain on Thursday over southern and central Quebec


Showers at times sustained with a risk of thunderstorms will persist Thursday in the southern and central sectors of Quebec. 

Heavy precipitation has already sprinkled several sectors since the day before, leaving accumulations of 30 to 50 millimeters on the ground, under a rising mercury nevertheless. 

Environment Canada has issued since Wednesday a heavy rain alert for the central sectors of the province with possible flooding in places.

“We expect 30 to 50 millimeters of rain in several areas of the south and center of the province until Thursday morning,” said the federal agency. . 

The Laurentians, Montérégie, Montreal, Mauricie and Quebec sectors are particularly concerned by the Environment Canada warning.

Montreal and the Mauricie should receive another 5 millimeters of rain, while temperatures will stabilize at 20 degrees. 

In Quebec, up to u'à 20 millimeters are expected, especially in the northern sectors, while temperatures will be below normal for the season. 

In western Quebec, the weather conditions will be better, since sunny, with sometimes alternating clouds, is expected there and a rising mercury.

Almost similar situation for the eastern sectors of the province, while alternating sun is expected and clouds and a Humidex 28 depending on the sector.
