Pascal Bérubé will be parliamentary leader for the PQ

The MP for Matane-Matapédia will take care of parliamentary business as leader, confirmed the head of the sovereignist formation, Paul Saint-Pierre Plamondon.

He will also be responsible for identity, education and the regions.

“Pascal has this passion that we know him well for our nation, he will closely ensure that the CAQ does not abandon our language and our culture to an inevitable decline, in addition to ensure that the regions which do not have ministers or which do not have opposition deputies are nevertheless strongly heard in the blue room. Pascal is also the man for the job to monitor the new Minister of Education! explained in a press release the leader of the Parti Québécois.

Pascal Bérubé had served as parliamentary leader from 2018 to August 2021.

He then had decided to step down. He explained that being the parliamentary leader of a political formation is particularly demanding from a personal and professional point of view. “After almost three years in this position, I wish to pass the torch so that I can devote myself more to my files and, above all, to my constituency,” he mentioned.
