Police pursuit: from Trois-Rivières to Repentigny

Police chase: Trois-Rivières to Repentigny

A major police chase forced the deployment of several police forces from Trois-Rivières to Repentigny on Sunday.

It's around 2 in the morning that a call was made by a citizen of Trois-Rivières concerning the theft of his neighbor's vehicle, said Lieutenant Steve Ricard.

Quickly, the authorities located the type vehicle “pick-up” and a chase ensued. The vehicle was finally intercepted on Highway 40 near Repentigny.

However, the suspect fled on foot. A vast search operation did not make it possible to find the suspect, explained Nicolas Scholtus, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

A second suspicious vehicle was also located by the police . “The investigation will determine if this vehicle has a link with the file,” added Mr. Ricard.

Assistance from several SQ stations as well as the Repentigny police department was necessary in this operation, said Lieutenant Ricard.
