Sherbrooke: 21-year-old man in arrested stolen vehicle ;summer

A 21-year-old man in a stolen vehicle was arrested in Sherbrooke overnight and will appear before the judge on Thursday. 

The Service de Sherbrooke police (SPS) was notified by the Sûreté du Québec in the Coaticook sector about a Mazda CX-5 vehicle reported stolen since June 12, which escaped an interception.

SPS patrol officers quickly located the suspect vehicle around midnight in a parking lot near the Beauvoir sanctuary.

The driver of the SUV, who was alone at the wheel, was arrested by the police who also found a weapon lead in the glove box.

The suspect known to the police is being held in custody pending trial on charges of dangerous driving, receiving possession and breach of bail.
