Sherbrooke: a septuagenarian arrested for threats with a handgun

A 72-year-old man who threatened a Sherbrooke SPA employee with a handgun was arrested by police who seized a batch of weapons and contraband tobacco from his home.
The septuagenarian of the Canton of Orford had previously refused any collaboration with the employee on a mission to identify dogs and cats on the territory of the municipality.
< p>Police officers from the Régie de police de Memphrémagog came to his home to arrest him as he was preparing to leave his home, which was subject to a search.
In addition to the handgun which turned out to be a “pellet revolver”, the investigators seized a pellet gun and “starting” revolvers, the RPM said in a press release.
The search allowed also the discovery of 30,000 contraband cigarettes hidden inside the residence, it was added.
