Stroll will leave dead last in Great Britain

Stroll will leave last in Great Britain

It was a hard day at the office for Lance Stroll, who did not have a good qualifying on Saturday and will have to settle for 20th and last place on the starting grid at the Grand Prix of British Formula 1.

Like Friday, the rain again came to spoil the party on the Silverstone circuit. The Quebecer's Aston Martin car is obviously not performing well in the rain and with intermediate tyres. Stroll was only able to set a best time of 1min 43.430s in the first qualifying session.

It was equally disappointing for his team-mate Sebastian Vettel, who couldn't do better than the 18th fastest lap.

Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz took the lead, the first of his career. His time of 1:40.983 put him just ahead of Max Verstappen (Red Bull). The other Ferrari of Charles Leclerc will start the race in third place.

The palm of the exploit of the day goes to Canadian Nicholas Latifi, however, who ranked for the very first time in Q3, at its third season. The Williams driver, whose future in F1 seems threatened, will start 10th.

The British Grand Prix race will take place on Sunday.
