The 103 years of Mr. Paul

The 103 years of Monsieur Paul

Benoit Drolet, owner of the Pont-Rouge golf club, sent me some photos taken during the reception highlighting in advance the 103rd birthday of one of their most loyal golfers, Paul Reny (photo). Mr. Reny, honorary member of the Pont-Rouge club, was born on September 21, 1919. It is therefore officially his birthday today. He plays his little “nine holes” once a week and assures that he is still having fun. Insurance broker for a good part of his life in Quebec and for 10 years in Chicoutimi, he ceased his activities as a financial planner at the age of 90. It was he who notably opened the first private radio station (CJMT) in Chicoutimi and founded Cégep Garneau. Happy birthday, Mr. Paul!

Promutuel Ambassadors

In order to recognize the exceptional contribution and commitment of people who are just as exceptional, Promutuel Insurance recently inducted into its pantheon new ambassadors who have marked the rich history of the organization. Exceptionally this year, due to its 170th anniversary of foundation, 17 administrators, managers or employees with inspiring backgrounds were honored. True ambassadors of mutualist values, these people have participated or are still actively participating in the activities of their mutual company or the federation, in addition to contributing to their influence. Their induction took place on the sidelines of the Promutuel Insurance Annual Convention held recently in Victoriaville. In the photo, Yvan Rose, President of Groupe Promutuel, and Geneviève Fortier, Chief Executive Officer, surround the 17 winners.

Let's climb for hope!

In 1939, worried about the growing risk of war in Europe, the American General Staff recommended launching as soon as possible the development of new heavy bombers. Boeing has been working on this for a few years. The first prototype of the Boeing B-29 Superfortress (photo) took off on September 21, 1942, followed by a second three months later and a third in June 1943.
