The Caisse de depot et placement du Québec (CDPQ) has invested $10 million in Cozey, a Montreal designer and online retailer of modular sofas.

This investment will allow the CDPQ to support this young Montreal company in its strategic development plan in the United States, accelerate its growth in Canada and expand its product line.

Founded in 2020 , Cozey distributes its products across Canada. The company stands out in the furniture industry thanks to fast delivery, between two and five days, via mail-sized boxes, as well as products that assemble easily and without tools.

“Cozey is Canada's leading player in the sofa-in-box market and has demonstrated the effectiveness

of its digital-focused business model. The Montreal company is positioning itself advantageously

in a more conventional industry and is already demonstrating its strong capacity for growth,” said Kim Thomassin, Senior Vice-President and Head, Quebec of the CDPQ.

“Thanks to their support, we will be able to continue to stand out in our industry, in which we are pioneers, in order to deploy our business model on a larger scale and deliver a shopping experience even more innovative,” said the CEO and founder of Cozey, Frédéric Aubé.
