While on the show of Alexandre Dubé on QUB radio, the columnist of the Guide de l'auto Antoine Joubert explains the cover of the new paper edition of the Guide de l'auto 2023.

“This year, it was a rather complex discussion to decide which vehicle will be on the cover of the Car Guide ,” says Antoine. The team wanted to make a change, since there have been a lot of trucks in recent years.

Indeed, the all-electric Rivian R1T pickup truck featured as the mascot in 2020, while the Ford Bronco and GMC Hummer EV were on the cover in 2021 and 2022 respectively.

“We had the a desire to return to a car […] the Ferrari 296 GTB was one of the choices”, mentions the journalist. The sporty car was however discarded, even if it is more of a dream.

After long discussions, the team of experts agreed to take the Volkswagen ID. Buzz, for multiple reasons. Among these, the vehicle revives the famous Westfalia with a modernized formula because the ID. Buzz is 100 % electric.
