Search resumes for missing hunter

DAY

Several members of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) were deployed again on Wednesday morning to find Marcel Maltais, an 80-year-old hunter who has been missing for two weeks now.

Teams on ATVs and SUVs, as well as helicopters from the provincial police force will still comb a large sector of the Laurentides Wildlife Reserve in the hope of locating the man.< /p>

After concentrating their search in the area of Gite du Berger, located on Route 169 between Quebec and Lac-Saint-Jean, the authorities will this time go to forest trails that join Saint- Raymond, where the residence of Mr. Maltais is located.

“About fifteen patrollers in the field will be deployed today to carry out this new day of research”, explains Nancy Fournier, spokesperson for the SQ.

No new clues

The 5'4'', 145lb man was last seen on October 6 , when he was in Hébertville in Lac-Saint-Jean. Despite the help of many other hunters, neither his blue 2002 Chevrolet S-10 pickup nor his blue 2016 Polaris sport ATV have been located.

When he disappeared , he wore a black cap with red lettering, a black and blue checked coat, blue pants and gray sneakers. He has brown eyes and white hair that reaches his ears.

“For the moment, we have not found any clues or new elements that would allow us to improve or facilitate our deployment”, indicates Ms. Fournier.
