A year after being fatally struck in Saint-Lin–Laurentides, in Lanaudière, dozens of family members and friends of Émile Martineau held a ceremony on Thursday evening to pay tribute to him.
On the side of Route 335, several people gathered to remember the teenager.
People were very emotional as they gathered at the spot where the 16-year-old was grabbed.
“It's not the first time we've come to see him. It should not be forgotten. He is not afraid in vain”, mentions Jacinthe Léveillé
Recall that the young man had been mowed down by Derick Pimparé who pleaded guilty to hit and run offenses causing death as well as obstruction of justice in connection with the death of Émile Martineau.
He had attempted to remove the damaged parts of his van in order to replace them for thereby covering the tracks implicating him in the collision.
