Earlier this fall, Hyundai announced that Marilou, singer and well-known businesswoman, would be the brand ambassador for Quebec.
It will be remembered that Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge occupied this role until the car manufacturer terminated the contract because of his vaccination status.

On the occasion of the arrival of Marilou as the headliner of the Korean brand, Antoine Joubert and Germain Goyer received her on the show of the Guide de l'auto on QUB Radio last Saturday .
An ambassador role
Working hand in hand with Hyundai, Marilou acts as an ambassador and not a spokesperson. She takes advantage of her appearance on the radio to qualify the difference.
“A spokesperson will talk about vehicle features and pricing, among other things. The ambassador, meanwhile, will represent the brand as a whole and its values. This role suited me better,” says Marilou. She must bring her personality closer to the brand with which she is associated.
She nevertheless mentions that she remains open to the idea of being a spokesperson when she has taken the time to become familiar with the automotive world that she admits, in all humility, knows little about.
The automobile: a symbol of freedom
Having grown up in the suburbs, Marilou felt the need to quickly obtain her driver's license in order to be able to get around more easily. “I remember counting the sleeps before my driving test. It was a synonym of freedom for me,” she confides wistfully.
Once the driving test had been passed, there was no question of waiting any longer before getting your hands on your first car. “The day I got my license, I went to buy my first Volkswagen Golf. I had a lot of great adventures in that car,” she recalls.
A crush on the Ioniq 6
Inevitably, Marilou has been introduced to the entire Hyundai range in recent months. She says she particularly enjoyed her time spent driving the Ioniq 5 and Palisade.
“When I drove the Hyundai Ioniq 6, I hit something! We had a prototype. I had the real impression of flying thanks to the lightness effect. It was a feeling I had never experienced while driving another vehicle. The interior is very spacious and I can see myself having this car and placing the two large baby benches in the back,” says Marilou.
In addition, we can see it now in Hyundai's advertising campaign.
