Montreal Alouettes fans who would have liked their favorite club to be in the Zach Collaros derby next winter will have to resign themselves, since the quarterback has decided to stay with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers .
On Tuesday, the man who could have become a free agent at the end of this campaign signed a new three-year agreement with his team. The 2021 Canadian Football League (CFL) MVP will therefore be associated with the Bombers until the conclusion of the 2025 campaign.
Collaros is at the top of his game right now. This year, he set new personal bests with 4,115 passing yards and 35 touchdowns. He still has one game to play in the regular season.
The American will also try to lead his team to a third consecutive Gray Cup title, with Winnipeg already guaranteed to finish the season in first echelon of the West Division.
Playing with the Blue Bombers since the end of October 2019, Collaros maintained a 31-4 record with the club. He is also 5-0 in playoff games.
Before joining the Manitoba team, the Ohio native played for the Toronto Argonauts (2012-2013), Hamilton Tiger-Cats (2014-2017) and Saskatchewan Roughriders (2018-2019).
